Oral History Project
The Oral History Project led by The League’s Education Committee will continue as an ongoing project. As new members join the League, their oral history will be recorded and added to the archives. It is proposed that the Oral History recordings be included in the permanent installation of Lives Bound Together in the space formerly occupied by the Martha Washington gift shop. The recordings will serve as a public record and reflection on the impact of the lives of the enslaved ancestors at Mount Vernon through the voices of their descendants.
Key performance indicators:
Agreement for a permanent display based on Lives Bound Together replacing the Martha Washington gift shop
Commence plan to create a permanent display based on Lives Bound Together exhibition
